Modelling Fire Spread and Behavior III

The 3rd workshop on “Fire Spread and Behavior Modelling in a context of Climate Change”, was held in Sassari, Italy, from 26 to 29 July 2016.  The workshop was organized by the ClimaSouth project as part of its support to the implementation of a national activity in Algeria.  It was conducted over a  five day period, and the proceedings included lectures, computer exercises, and training, The main goal was of further preparing the participants on the analysis of fire exposure and vulnerability for the study area of Tlemcen, NW Algeria, in consideration of historic conditions and future climate change scenarios.  The lectures and hands-on exercises were coordinated by Valentina Bacciu and Michele Salis of the CMCC-IAFES Division of Sassari. Two PhD students of the University of Sassari provided support for the GIS and fire spread modelling exercises.
